The Healthcare Network was founded in 1977 and has been governed by a board of directors made up of community leaders and our patient population. Fully 51% or more of board members either receive or have children who receive services at the Healthcare Network. The following men and women sit on the Healthcare Network Board of Trustees. Haris M. Domond, HCN Board Chair

Background/Experience . A certified mental health counselor since 1993, Board Chairman Haris M. Domond has experience in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient clinics, churches, Department of Children & Family (DCF) base settings, as well as in private practices in Florida. Mr. Domond is certified through the FDF Batterers Intervention Program (BIP) as a group facilitator, supervisor and trainer; and through the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) as a clinical associate.

Mario Dorestal, Vice Chair

Background/Experience . Mr. Mario Dorestal is professor of mathematics and education at Florida SouthWestern State College, Naples campus. He received graduate degrees in Mathematics, Curriculum / Instruction, Technology and Education Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University. Mr. Dorestal is also a tenured instructor in the Lee County Public School System.A talented writer and avid Dolphins fan, Mr. Dorestal resides in Naples with his wife and their two sons.

Background/Experience . Mrs. Elda I. Hernandez is a longtime community activist in Immokalee and has managed the Career Development Program of The Immokalee Foundation for the past five years. Her family moved to the U.S. from Mexico when she was five years old. As migrant farm workers, her family traveled from South Carolina to Immokalee, where they settled permanently.Mrs. Hernandez is a graduate of Hodges University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  She is active in numerous community service organizations including Rotary Club of Immokalee, Guadalupe Church, Cinco de Mayo Board of Directors, Leadership Collier Class of 2009, Christmas Around the World, Community Emergency Response Team, Collier Building Industry Association, Immokalee Middle School SAC, and Relay for Life.


Jerry Starkey, Treasurer

Background/Experience . Jerry Starkey has enjoyed a 30-year career as an executive and principal in the real estate, hospitality, senior living and financial services industries. Mr. Starkey is CEO of RE Partners International, LLC (www.reptrs.com). Prior to founding RE Partners International, Mr. Starkey was president and CEO of WCI Communities and president of its predecessor company, Florida Design Communities. Mr. Starkey also served as president of Aston Gardens, a large developer and operator of Senior Living Communities. He resides in Naples, where he is active in children and educational charities. He has been a Trustee of The Naples Children and Education Foundation since 2004 and serves on its board as treasurer.

Doug Campbell

Background/Experience . Doug Campbell spent 40 years in the oil and chemical business, 26 with BP and then as CEO of a public fertilizer manufacturer in Memphis and a private chemical company in Mulberry, FL. For the last 15 years, he has been an active child advocate in Collier County, serving as a Guardian ad Litem volunteer and president of Friends of Foster Children, which provides academic mentoring and enrichment activities the state does not provide. Interestingly, the Healthcare Network provides primary health and dental care for most of the children in the foster care system in Collier County. Mr. Campbell serves on the Healthcare Network governing board as well as the foundation board. 

Dr. Bernard Feldman

Background/Experience . Dr. Bernard Feldman received an MD from State University of New York, Downstate and a MPH in Maternal and Child Health from UC Berkley.He is board certified in Pediatrics and Perinatal-Neonatal Medicine and practiced as a Neonatologist in Las Vegas, NV for 29 years. His professional career includes a long list of hospital, teaching and administrative appointments at the local, state and national levels and service as a medical officer in the United States Navy from 1960-1965 when he was honorably discharged attaining the rank of Lt. Commander.Dr. Feldman has authored and co-authored 18 scientific publications. 


Maria Mila

Mrs. Maria Mila is a Billing and Insurance Processor at Moorings Park Community Health. She is a Uruguayan native mother of two that resides in Naples and a Commissioned Notary Public currently working on her Bachelors in Science in Business Administration, Operations Management Concentrations at DeVry University. Mrs. Mila has an extensive management experience in retail and customer service. She is involved in Education, Art and Social activities that supports causes like Autism Speaks, USAAA, and UNICEF. Maria’s passion for Crafts, scrapbooking and handmade card making makes the quality time with her two munchkins an artistic exchange. She is a natural motivator and believes that a smile and a positive attitude can change the world around us. Mrs. Mila is an avid reader and an amateur writer; her favorite quote is “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time”. (Thomas A. Jean C. Paul

Background/Experience . Pastor Jean C. Paul is a minister with over 40 years of experience in ministry and education. Pastor Paul started preaching and teaching in the early 1970s at the Lasserre Church of the Nazarene in Haiti. Over the next decade, he founded Micheau Church of the Nazarene and also worked as a carpenter to provide for his family.In 1980, Pastor Paul moved to the United States to seek a more stable and consistent means to provide for his family back home in Haiti. He attended culinary school in Miami, FL and was employed with Superior Bakery for over a decade. 


Edward (Ski) Olesky

Background/Experience . Edward (Ski) Olesky is an appointed member of the Immokalee Master Plan and Visioning Committee (IMPVC) and was instrumental in the development of the Immokalee Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) newly drafted Master Plan. A well respected member the Immokalee business community, Mr. Olesky is the owner of the Lake Trafford Marina and Airboats & Alligators, Inc. in Immokalee. He has been active in local civic organizations such as the Immokalee CRA Advisory Board, the Immokalee Enterprise Zone Development Agency, the Immokalee Rotary Club and Immokalee Fire Control & Rescue District. 


                                                Louis J. Traina, EdD

Background/Experience . Dr. Lou Traina currently serves as Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Florida SouthWestern State College, where he oversees the College Foundation and college-wide development, the public relations, marketing and communications division of the college. Dr. Traina has a doctorate of education degree from Columbia University, Teachers College; and a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Seton Hall University. He has served the not-for-profit community since 1974, holding positions of staff psychologist, rehabilitation counselor, college provost, vice president of university advancement, and foundation executive director. 

 

 


Joe Yzaguirre

Background/Experience . Mr. Joe Yzaguirre is an independent Farmworker Labor Contractor with H & R Farms and has extensive knowledge of the farming industry.Currently a resident of Felda, FL, Mr. Yzaguirre lived in Immokalee for over 40 years and remains connected to the Immokalee community through the agriculture industry.  He is a Healthcare Network constituent and was appointed to the Board of Directors in April 2012.

maria bryant

Background/Experience . Maria Bryant is a managing attorney at The Haba Law Firm. A bachelor of arts graduate of Tufts Univerity, Maria received her juris doctor from Ave Maria School of Law in Michigan. She has been licensed to practice law in Florida since 2008, during which she has been practicing law in the greater  Collier County community.  Currently a resident of Ave Maria, FL, she practices law in Immokalee and through her roles in the public and private sector has many connections and knowledge of the greater legal issues surrounding many of our Collier County residents.
