The Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida recently assumed operational management of the Women’s Health Foundation. Newly named Women’s Care Naples, the office becomes HCN’s 14th care facility and is located at 3339 East Tamiami Trail, Ste. 146 in the Collier Health Department Bldg. H. The Women’s Foundation was created in 1999 to address a potential maternity care crisis in Collier County. Thanks to a partnership agreement between members of the OB/GYN community the Collier County Health Department and Naples Community Hospital, the Foundation provided prenatal, delivery and postpartum care to women in financial need. Services were paid through Medicaid, Healthy Start or other funding sources.
More recently, the Foundation’s financial circumstances led to discussions of turning operations over to the Healthcare Network.
“We have been impressed with the Foundation’s work and dedication to their patients and community,” said Healthcare Network CEO Mike Ellis. “When discussions arose regarding us taking over operations, we couldn’t have found a more perfect fit with our mission of providing quality healthcare accessible to everyone.”
In addition, HCN welcomes five new care providers including Dr.Thomas Beckett, Dr. Chris Grevengood, Dr. Dean Hildahl, Dr. Max Kamerman, Dr. Wallace McLean, Sarah Clay, ARNP; and JessicaLoerop, PA-C.
Last year, the Women’s Foundation cared for 1,100 women, providing more than 8,000 prenatal visits and nearly 1,200 deliveries. According to Thomas VanPelt, former Women’s Health Foundation Executive Director, now HCN Director of Administrative Operations, the move will enhance patient services with additional staffing and the ability to utilize electronic health records as well as other modern administrative technology.
