Healthcare Network is proud to congratulate Dr. Jose Quero, our chief of adult medicine, for recently being named the Rural Physician of the Year by the Florida Rural Health Association. The award is presented to an individual who provides enduring contribution to rural health care in Florida. Dr. Quero joined Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida in 1993 and has cared for the rural population and working poor of Immokalee for more than 25 years. He is a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL and was named Patient Care Provider of the Year by the Southwest Florida Regional HIV/AIDS Council in 2010.
“Dr. Quero has dedicated his life to the care of the underserved, always seeking the highest standards of care and clinical excellence,” said Healthcare Network’s Vice President of Medical Staff Affairs Dr. Scott Needle. “Beyond his duties as a doctor, he is continuously reaching out to his patients with acts of kindness and is an inspiration to the students he mentors. Dr. Quero embodies the mission of Healthcare Network and no one is more deserving of this recognition.”
